The oldest one was built for steam engines. The steam engines were the first modern based engines. Rome is well known for its art and history but when it comes to modern structures, the Romans have left the whole Europe far behind by having the largest one in it.

Stations in Rome

There are many stations in Rome but only a few are mentioned. Rome train station has an interesting history to it as it was built when Adolf Hitler, the dictator came to visit Rome, Roma Porta San Paolo Station has a museum associated with it and Roma San Pietro Station connects Rome to the Vatican City. The Vatican City is the smallest and is surrounded with Rome surrounding it, where the Pope lives.

The Termini Station

Italy the capital of Rome has the main station located in it, ‘the Termini Station’ and is named after the district Termini. It was first started building in 1868 and completed in 1874; however the old building was demolished because of structural issues and a new one was made and opened in 1950. It is the main hub of Rome’s public transport, carrying well over a hundred million passengers each year to the main cities, and it also takes daily trains to other countries which include Paris, Munich, Vienna etc. it is one of the largest stations in Europe with more approximately thirty platforms. Because of its obvious importance it is the most used station in Rome. It was dedicated in 2006 to Pope John Paul II.

Roman train station is divided into different categories depending on speed, cost and duration. Frecciarossa trains are doubly faster than other trains and charge double the normal amount. Intercity trains are normal and less expensive and are less classy. Local trains are very cheap so they are good in a way but they are the least classy. Some visitors opt for car hire.

Fares and Tickets

The train fares are inexpensive in Rome which makes the trains perfect for daily use while going to work. Either going to another city or going across the border, one simply has to check the online schedule, make a reservation, keep their money in their pockets and documents too, and go away to the destination of their choice. Car hire is always becoming common.

There is cleanliness and special care goes into the security of the place. Roman art especially Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa are pride of the nation. Hence a lot of tourists go to Italy daily but travelling by buses becomes tiresome. Stations are well provided with accommodation. There are shops for eating and beverages, and vendors selling newspapers. The tickets are also available at stations.

When going to a country which is reachable through Rome train station, like Paris you can either take flight or board a train and taking a train is obviously less expensive than going via an airplane. Car hire is only a suitable option.
