| Description of Water: Moyola Angling Association Castledawson & Draperstown. A full list of Clubs can be found on page 38. The Moyola is one of the finest salmon rivers for its size in Ireland or the UK.
The Moyola River stretches for approximately 27 miles from Lough Neagh into the Sperrin Mountains. The Moyola starts a small river (3-5m) for the first few miles of its length and proceeds to expand to a medium sized river (5-20m) and then to a large river (20m+) for its last couple of miles before entering Lough Neagh.
Brown trout provide the bulk of the sport from April to July to both the dry and wet fly. In June the large Lough Neagh dollaghan and salmon start to appear and give good sport right to the end of the season.
The night fly fisherman requires a spate to get the fish up from Lough Neagh and then a period of settled low water conditions. Angling tuition available.
